An easy, wide, natural single trail, suitable for all levels (including children), approximately 18 km long.
You can start the ride at two different points: the first one is in front of the commercial center at the end of the cycling lane along Ben Gurion Boulevard, and the second one is at the western end of “Albert’s Promenade.” From there, the trail passes through breathtaking viewpoints along the steep cliffs of Makhtesh Ramon, up to the Astronomical Observatory. Riding on the trail will lead you through the farms, where you will see modern cultivation methods together with ancient agricultural infrastructure. The vineyards and orchards along Nahal Zin and the “Desert’s Edge” project are an integral part of this historic landscape, dating back to the days of the Nabateans. At the junction of “Shizaf Farm” the trail turns south and climbs to a scenic viewpoint over the ridge between Nahal Zin and Mitzpe Ramon. From there, the trail descends eastward to the “Bedouin Cemetery” junction and returns along the wadi (beneath the under-constrction Noga neighborhood) to the “Hetz B’Shakat” desert lodge. Finally, the trail connects to the “Tzohar L’Merchav” grove, and returns along Ben Gurion Boulevard on the municipal cycling lane to the starting point at the commercial center.
